htmlText_13C45A76_21F4_1D3C_41C0_25EA1A0F4207.html = Kiril Pejčinović - Tetoec (1771 - 1845) is a Macedonian educator, who represents the first generation of writers of contemporary Macedonian literature.
Pejčinović was born in the Tetovo village of Tearce in 1771. In 1818, after returning from Mount Athos, he rebuilt the Leskovac monastery where he was abbot until his death in 1845.
The church dedicated to the Assumption of St. Mary is mentioned in 1326, and was restored in 1641 and painted in 1646. The church is basically triapsis with a narthex on the west side. It was built of processed limestone and bricks. The church is vaulted with the main entrance on the west side and on the south side of the altar.
The frescoes in the church of the Assumption of St. Mary are date back to the 17th and 19th centuries. The frescoes from the 17th century have been preserved in the nave, and in the 19th century the altar and the narthex were painted. The frescoes in the nave are painted in five zones and contain elements of classical Byzantine art from the 14th century, while the painting from the 19th century has a significantly lower artistic value.
The Church of St. Athanasius is the main monastery church in the Lešok monastery after its consecration in 1936. Construction began in 1924 according to the plan of the architect Andrasov, and its construction, with interruptions, lasted 10 years.
For the interior decoration and in the construction of the iconostasis and the hierarchical throne, masters from Gostivar were hired in 1936 with the initials ISTRG which were written on the back of the imperial doors. The icons on the iconostasis were made by an unknown painter in 1936.
Until 1968, the church was painted several times by different painters of different quality.
The church was completely destroyed on August 21, 2001.
Today's church is built from the material next to the older church and was consecrated in 2007.

The monastery is located at the foot of Shar Mountain, above the village of Lešok. In the monastery, which is the largest spiritual center in the Polog region, are the churches of St. Athanasius and Assumption of St. Mary and the tomb of Kiril Pejčinović, one of the most famous Macedonian revivalists.
The monastery was founded for the first time from 1321 to 1331 by the bishop of Polog, Anthony, and was renovated after the arrival of Kiril Pejčinović from Mount Athos in 1818. The monastery lodgings were renovated and the monastery library was founded.
The monastery was demolished twice, the first time in 1690, the second time in 2001.
