htmlText_C2C240F4_E034_1C01_41B0_415DC6ABD3F7.html = Made in fresco technique, the founder's inscription, located on the south wall of the central nave, tells us that Sir Joanakij, who became a monk by the name of Acacius, built the church, and the responsibility for painting the temple fell to the high church official from the Ohrid Archbishopric, deacon and referent John.
In the first zone are painted standing saints over which are painted half-length martyr figures. In the north nave is painted тhe Last Judgment, and in the south is painted the Cycle of St. Nicholas, and the Great Holidays are painted on the walls of the central ship. Due to the absence of a dome, the usual dome scenes are painted on the semicircular surfaces of the arches that connect the columns between the central and side naves.
The Church of St. Nicholas is the last church in the Republic of Macedonia which is built on the basis of a three-aisled basilica with exactly the same length and width, which is typical for this type of buildings. It is also unusual for a monastery church, as this type of building is more suitable for cathedrals. On the east side, the three naves have one three-sided apse. The church was built of carved stone, brick and mortar.

The church dedicated to St. Nikola in the village of Manastir was built in 1266, probably on the remains of an older building, and was painted in 1271. The painting decoration in the church of St. Nicholas is the most characteristic arrangement created on the territory of Macedonia during the Byzantine restitution.
Inside the church is the tomb of the abbot Akakaij, the founder of the church.
