St. Nicholas the Wonderworker

Historical data is scarce, but it is believed to have been built in 1354. Sebastocrat Vlatko and his father, Prince Paščac, are mentioned as its founders. In a charter dated March 25, 1358, the attachment of the church to the Hilandar monastery by the ruler Vlatko is mentioned.
During the conservation work of this church, it was determined that the inscription above the western entrance door was destroyed in 1876, because it mentioned King Uros and Volkashin. The inscriptions of these rulers on their portraits on the northern wall have also been destroyed.
The Church of St. Nikola is placed on a rectangular space, and the base has the shape of an inscribed cross. A narthex was built on the front side, above which, as in the past, a dome rises above the central part. The facade of the church is profiled and decorated with patterns made in ceramic. To the east, it ends with a three-sided apse. It was built from crushed, glued stone and brick.
The painting is from the time when the church was built and is one of the best pictorial achievements of Macedonian medieval painting. The painters are not known, but the painted portraits of the founders' family, treated with a great deal of reality, show that the unknown painter was among the talented and renowned artists of the mid-14th century. The coloring with extraordinary shades of blue, white and red shows the great skill and knowledge of the unknown Psač painter.
The realistic portraits of the founders, Prince Paščac and his wife, Princess Ozra, Sebastocrat Vlatko, his wife Vladislava and his son Stefan are of high value.
In the 19th century, certain repaintings were carried out, and at the beginning of the 20th century, on the western facade, the painter Dimitrie Andonov Paparadishki presented figures of several saints with his recognizable skill.
